NC3Rs CRACK IT Challenges briefing webinar: Challenge 41 – SAFE
This webinar will provide prospective applicants with further information about Challenge 41: SAFE and guidance on how to apply.

The NC3Rs CRACK IT Challenge competition funds the development and application of new technologies into 3Rs products and services that are directly targeted to meet end-user needs. Challenges are developed in collaboration with Sponsors who provide in-kind contributions to successful applicants to help solve the Challenge, with a view to using the product developed. Challenges are supported by Partners who provide additional resources to help deliver the Challenge. The competition is open to applicants from any UK or EU body public or private (e.g. academic institutions, small and medium- sized enterprises, not-for-profit organisations).

Challenge 41: SAFE (Innovative Safety Assessment of Fish adverse Effects) is one of two Challenges in this year’s competition, which will open for applications from Monday 13 September 2021. The aim of this Challenge is to develop a suite of innovative, scalable bioassays for key adverse outcome pathways to replace in vivo fish studies in chemical safety screening and regulatory environmental risk assessment.

This webinar, which is free to attend, will be relevant to interested potential applicants and will include presentations from the NC3Rs and the Challenge Sponsors providing an overview of the CRACK IT Challenges competition, how to apply and details of the Challenge. There will be the opportunity to ask questions after the webinar presentations.

Full details of this year’s Challenges and further information on the competition process can be found on the NC3Rs Innovation Platform: https://nc3rs.org.uk/crackit/crack-it-challenges
