Anne Beaulaurier
@United States Antarctic Program
When Anne is not working in Antarctica, she lives near Denali National Park in Alaska, the home of North America’s highest mountain. Over nearly 15 years of living in the region where winter temperatures regularly dips to -40F/C in the winter, Anne learned about living in the cold. One of Anne’s favorite things is sunlight, and she now chases nightless days by spending boreal summers near the Arctic Circle in Alaska, and austral summers in the Antarctic. Prior to working for the United States Antarctic Program, Anne ran naturalist programs and logistics for a travel company operating inside Denali National Park. She has spent the last six austral summers helping to run, or manage, field camps on “The Ice” for visiting researchers, including in the West Antarctic, Transantarctic Mountains and the McMurdo Dry Valleys.
