Many innovators are self employed - why do you exclude them from your competitions - or force them into PAYE, which is a much less tax efficient status for their work?

Folks, from experience on previous bids, the answers to the 10 questions is limited to text-only, with basic formatting. Also, References, are included in the text-box. So, References do contribute to your word-count. The exception to this (for some Qs only) is the Appendices, these are uploaded as PDF with a page-limit, not a word limit.

Can a UK-based SME/academic collaboration also collaborate with Africa (Nigeria) via this grant call?

For very early companies, who don't have access to matched funding, how would you advise to proceed? A successful UKRI award would be tempting to investors, but would you have to arrange the matched funding within 90 days of award?

Are there any health topics that will score higher?

How big is the overall applications in terms of numbers of pages/words?

Michal, if it’s normal IFS 10-questions, then each is limited to 400 words, plus 4 appendices which have page limits of 2 or 4. Hope that helps.
